Sweet and sour Pathia -The best of British

Well, the truth is that Pathia is a Persian curry, but it’s a favourite in the UK - it’s our favourite.

This fabulous sweet and sour curry uses lemon juice and apple cider vinegar to bring a hint of bitterness that’s wonderfully balanced with a bit of brown sugar. Oh, we’d mention that the sugar is in the recipe rather than in our spice kits. That puts you in control should you prefer it more or less sweet.

Our recipe also includes optional extras of tamarind sauce and mango chutney. 2 out of every 3 people liked the Pathia even more when these ingredients were added in. It gives the taste more depth; more complexity.

Chicken Pathia joined our stable in March 2024. We were able to launch it after acting on 4 weeks of feedback from our customers at Sutherland Shire Farmers’ Market. We knew we’d nailed it when we heard a customer preaching about it as she joined the queue at the stall next door. We’d got the balance right.

Further proof is the fact that Pathia* even outsells Butter Chicken on days when we cook both of them at the market stall.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a better Pathia in Australia. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find another Pathia in Australia. Australia’s now a better place.

*At markets, we always cook Pathia wthout the optional extras (above).
